Bringing home your new Pomsky is an exciting day! At Legendary Pomskies, we want your puppy’s transition to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. This guide will help you get ready for your Pomsky before they arrive—and set them up for success in their new home.

Step 1: Puppy-Proof Your Home Pomskies are curious, playful, and smart—so expect them to explore everything! Before your puppy comes home:

  • Secure loose wires, cords, and chargers

  • Store shoes, clothing, and small items out of reach

  • Use baby gates to block off unsafe rooms or stairs

  • Remove toxic plants, food, and cleaning supplies from accessible areas

Step 2: Stock Up on Essentials Having supplies ready makes the first day much easier. We recommend:

  • High-quality puppy food (we’ll send a sample of what your Pomsky is eating now)

  • Food and water bowls (preferably stainless steel or ceramic)

  • A comfortable crate for training and safe naps

  • Puppy-safe toys and chews to satisfy their teething needs

  • Collar, leash, and ID tag for quick potty trips outside

  • Training pads or grass patches for early potty training

Step 3: Plan for the First Few Days Your puppy will need time to adjust to their new surroundings.

  • Set up a quiet, cozy space with their crate, bed, and toys

  • Stick to a routine for meals, potty breaks, and naps

  • Limit visitors at first to prevent overwhelming your puppy

  • Supervise closely to reinforce positive behaviors

Step 4: Schedule Your First Vet Visit Even though every Legendary Pomsky puppy comes with a health record and first vaccinations, it’s important to:

  • Book a checkup within a few days of coming home

  • Discuss your vet’s vaccination and deworming schedule

  • Ask about flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

Step 5: Begin Basic Training Early Pomskies are intelligent and eager to learn. Early training helps them grow into well-behaved companions.

  • Start with crate training and potty training from day one

  • Teach simple commands like sit and come using treats and praise

  • Socialize your puppy with gentle new experiences, sounds, and people

Step 6: Give Lots of Love and Patience Adjusting to a new home can be overwhelming for a puppy. Offer:

  • Plenty of cuddle time and positive reinforcement

  • Patience during teething, crate training, and accidents

  • Opportunities for safe play and short walks once they’re fully vaccinated

Why Legendary Pomskies Families Feel Confident

  • Puppies are well-socialized from birth with adults, kids, and everyday household sounds

  • We send updates, photos, and videos before pickup day

  • You’ll receive a starter kit with food and a familiar blanket

  • We provide lifetime breeder support for any questions after adoption
